Study: Replacing gas stoves cuts asthma attacks 70%

A pilot study by the MetroHealth System and Case Western Reserve University found that replacing gas stoves with electric induction models reduced asthma attacks by 70% among 85 participants with poorly controlled asthma. Indoor nitrogen dioxide levels fell by 70%, and asthma severity dropped from moderate to mild, rivaling medication trials. However, the study was small, lacked a control group, and federal funding was terminated in 2025.
