Jhandu Kumar, a polio survivor who once sold potatoes on the streets and drove an e-rickshaw, won a bronze medal in para powerlifting at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The 27-year-old from Harnaut, Bihar, overcame poverty and disability to claim India's first medal at the event. Inspired by actor Salman Khan, he sold his e-rickshaw to fund his first national championships and later trained at SAI's centre in Gandhinagar.
