Dharmendra Pradhan resigns over NEET-UG exam irregularities

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned on July 25, 2026, after weeks of student protests in Delhi over irregularities in the NEET-UG medical entrance exam. Pradhan acknowledged the irregularities, which prompted the government to hand the investigation to the CBI, cancel the test, and reschedule it. Future exams will be conducted in Computer-Based Test mode starting next year. In his resignation letter, he said he respects the aspirations of the country's youth and expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister.
