King Charles saved Scotland's Dumfries House

King Charles III, then Prince of Wales, led a £45m rescue in 2007 to save Dumfries House in East Ayrshire from being dismantled. The 2,000-acre estate, built in 1759 and featuring a Thomas Chippendale collection, now serves as the headquarters of The King's Foundation, offering tours and education in traditional crafts.
