Cairngorms village evacuated as wildfire rages

A major incident has been declared and the entire village of Nethy Bridge evacuated as a wildfire in the Cairngorms national park intensifies due to strengthening winds. The blaze, burning for 11 days, now threatens the village. Residents have been taken to a respite centre. First Minister John Swinney chaired a meeting of the Scottish government's resilience room to coordinate the response.
