Sonam Wangchuk ends fast as government offers assurances; CJP protests continue

Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk ended his 26-day hunger strike at Medanta Hospital on July 23 after receiving written assurances from the government, fearing a crackdown on protesters. Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh oversaw the fast-breaking. However, Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke vowed to continue agitation until Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.
