Centre to table stricter anti-paper leak Bill in Lok Sabha Monday

The Centre will introduce the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, in Lok Sabha on Monday, proposing enhanced penalties for paper leaks and exam malpractices. The bill mandates a two-month investigation deadline and three-month trial, creates a Special Task Force, and increases maximum fines for individuals to Rs 50 lakh. It follows nationwide protests over NEET-UG irregularities and the recent resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
