Kargil martyr's family says promises unfulfilled after 26 years

The family of Indian Army soldier Avnish Yadav, killed in the 1999 Kargil War, says promises of a statue, a hospital, and a school in his honour remain unfulfilled. Mother Somaro Devi and father Shivji Yadav, a retired CRPF officer, noted that while a petrol pump was allotted to his widow, other assurances have not been implemented. Bairia SDM Shashi Mani Nath Mishra said he is investigating the matter.
