Mirabai Chanu wins third straight Commonwealth Games gold

Mirabai Chanu secured her third consecutive Commonwealth Games gold medal in the women's 48kg weightlifting event in Glasgow on Sunday. The Indian star lifted a total of 190kg, dominating with 85kg in snatch and 105kg in clean and jerk. She becomes the first female weightlifter to achieve a hat-trick of CWG golds, adding to her 2018 and 2022 titles. The Tokyo Olympic silver medallist finished 22kg ahead of Nigeria's Ruth Asuquo Nyong.
