Mirabai Chanu wins third straight Commonwealth gold

Mirabai Chanu won her third consecutive gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, lifting a total of 190 kg to set new Games records in snatch (85 kg) and clean and jerk (105 kg). The Tokyo Olympic silver medallist secured India's first gold of the event, adding to her silver in 2014 and golds in 2018 and 2022. Earlier, Rishikanta Singh won silver in men's 60 kg weightlifting.
