Berlin Pride attack suspect killed in police shootout

Berlin police shot dead Abdul Ballout, 21, the suspect in the deadly attack near Berlin's Christopher Street Day Pride celebrations, after a nationwide manhunt. Ballout allegedly drove a van into a crowd and attacked people with a machete on Saturday, killing one and injuring 29. German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said evidence points to an Islamist terrorist attack. Ballout, a German citizen of Lebanese descent, had previously attempted to join the Islamic State group.
