Berlin Pride attack suspect shot dead by police

German police shot dead Abdul Ballout, 21, the suspect in a van and knife attack near Berlin's Pride festival that killed one and injured 29. The Islamist-motivated assault occurred Saturday in Tiergarten park. Ballout, a German national with Lebanese roots, was killed during an operation in Spandau. Officials described him as a criminal with Islamist ties who had attempted to join Islamic State.
