Kazakhstan urges freeze of Russia-Ukraine war as oil exports disrupted

Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called for freezing the Russia-Ukraine conflict as drone attacks blamed on Ukraine halted oil shipments via the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). The attacks damaged the Black Sea terminal at Novorossiysk, forcing Kazakhstan to cut production and threatening its economy, which relies on oil for 20% of GDP, and EU energy supplies. Tokayev praised Putin's diplomacy, while Astana denounced the strikes as an unacceptable encroachment.
