Opposition targets Amit Shah as Parliament resumes

As Parliament's Monsoon Session resumes Monday, the opposition INDIA bloc, led by Rahul Gandhi, is demanding Home Minister Amit Shah explain the use of pellet guns and lethal force against student protesters during a July 20 march. The government, meanwhile, plans to introduce the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, which raises penalties for paper leaks and establishes fast-track courts.
