Mirabai Chanu wins third consecutive CWG gold

Mirabai Chanu clinched her third successive Commonwealth Games gold medal in the women's 48kg category in Glasgow, setting records with a total lift of 190kg. Despite a nervous start, she bounced back to break Commonwealth records in snatch (85kg) and clean and jerk (105kg). An emotional Chanu, who had not eaten for two days, dedicated the victory to her mother and coach. Silver medallist Ruth Asuquo Nyong finished 22kg behind.
