Demolition order threatens Jauhar University

The Rampur Development Authority has ordered the demolition of 38 of 40 buildings at Mohammad Ali Jauhar University in Uttar Pradesh, leaving only the medical college and academic block. The notice, issued July 15, gives the university until August 5 to comply. Students have launched an indefinite sit-in, and activist Mohammad Deepak has appealed to save the institution, warning that little will remain if the order is carried out.
