Andhra Pradesh sees zero cybercrime convictions

Andhra Pradesh has recorded zero convictions in cybercrime cheating cases over the past five years, despite a steady rise in offenses from 1,899 in 2020 to 2,528 in 2024. Data tabled in Lok Sabha reveals charge-sheet filing rates below 10% and arrests in less than 5% of cases. Legal experts attribute the failure to inadequate investigation skills and weak evidence collection, emboldening cybercriminals and leaving thousands of victims without justice.
