Delhi HC suspends ex-Bihar MLA's sentence in firing death

The Delhi High Court on Monday suspended the four-year prison sentence of former Bihar MLA Raju Kumar Singh in a case related to the death of Archana Gupta from celebratory firing during a New Year party in 2018. The court noted no likelihood of the appeal being heard soon and ordered him to furnish a bail bond of Rs 25,000 and deposit Rs 25 lakh compensation. Singh was convicted for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. His plea to stay conviction will be heard on August 11.
