Sarvesh Kushare wins historic high jump silver at CWG 2026

Sarvesh Kushare cleared 2.25m to win India's first Commonwealth Games men's high jump silver medal in Glasgow on Monday. Jamaica's Romaine Beckford took gold on countback after both failed at 2.28m, while England's Kimani Jack won bronze with 2.20m. The national record holder (2.31m) bettered Tejaswin Shankar's 2022 bronze. Aadarsh Ram finished fifth; Shankar withdrew after one attempt to protect his knee for the decathlon.
