Sharmila wins gold, India bags 10 medals at CWG 2026

India's medal tally at the 2026 Commonwealth Games reached 10 after a late-night medal rush. Para shot putter Sharmila Dhankar won gold in the women's F57 final with a season-best throw of 9.81m, while Shilpa Shyla took bronze. Sarvesh Anil Kushare secured silver in men's high jump (2.26m), and weightlifter Valluri Ajaya Babu also earned silver in the men's 79kg category. The haul included six weightlifting medals.
