Bihar, Assam release NEET protesters; Bengal holds out

Bihar and Assam governments announced the withdrawal of cases and release of protesters arrested during demonstrations against exam paper leaks, with a cut-off of 6 pm on July 26. West Bengal, however, has not followed suit. The Cockroach Janta Party threatened to resume protests if the Centre fails to provide a written assurance. Kapil Sibal announced a Rs 1-crore legal fund to assist detainees.
