Zidane named France head coach

Zinedine Zidane has been confirmed as head coach of the France national team, replacing Didier Deschamps who stepped down after the 2026 World Cup. The 54-year-old, a World Cup winner with France in 1998 and three-time Champions League-winning manager at Real Madrid, will lead the team through 2030 World Cup qualifiers. His first competitive fixture is a Nations League trip to Turkey on September 25.
