Davies wins Australia's first track gold at Commonwealth Games

Rose Davies stormed to victory in the women's 10,000m at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, securing Australia's first athletics gold of the event. The 26-year-old kicked away from Kenya's Diana Wanza in the final kilometer, winning by 10 seconds and becoming the first Australian woman to win the event. Davies, who holds national records in the 5,000m and 10,000m, will race the shorter distance on Friday.
