Major quake in southern Japan injures dozens, disrupts power

A magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck Japan's southern Kumamoto prefecture on Tuesday, injuring at least 50 people, damaging roads, derailing a train, and knocking out power to about 40,000 homes. More than 150,000 were urged to evacuate. TSMC, Sony, and Fujifilm evacuated workers from local plants. A tsunami warning was later lifted. Authorities warned of aftershocks and landslides for about a week.
