Value-fashion retailers post double-digit Q1 sales growth

Value-fashion brands V-Mart Retail, Vishal Mega Mart, and Shoppers Stop's Intune reported double-digit same-store sales growth (SSSG) for the June quarter, outpacing the broader apparel segment. Vishal Mega Mart posted 10% SSSG, V-Mart 9% with profit up 40.5%, and Intune achieved its first positive like-for-like growth of 10% in a year. The growth was driven by efficient inventory management and strategic pricing that protected entry-level price points while taking selective hikes on premium products.
