Half of England in 'exceptionally serious' drought

Half of England is officially in drought, with July set to be the driest on record, the Environment Agency announced. Seven regions, including London, East Anglia, and the Thames Valley, are affected by a 'flash drought' due to unusually low rainfall and high temperatures. The agency warns that water is being used faster than nature can replenish it, with long-lasting impacts on the environment, wildlife, and the economy.
