Delhi HC Disposes of Plea After Police Agrees to Acknowledge Complaint

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday disposed of a petition alleging the Parliament Street Police Station refused to acknowledge a complaint against excessive force during a July 20 protest. The court acted after Delhi Police assured that the acknowledgement and Daily Diary number would be issued later that day, citing a temporary technical fault. The petitioner had sought directions for mandatory stamped acknowledgements on complaints disclosing cognizable offences.
