The Lok Sabha on Wednesday passed the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 after a marathon debate. The bill increases imprisonment for unfair practices to 5-10 years and fines up to Rs 50 lakh. It also sets up a Special Task Force for probe and fast-track courts for trial. During the debate, Union Minister Jitendra Singh criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for calling the youth "idiots", while Rahul alleged RSS control over education.
