Oscar winner Glen Hansard dies in motorcycle crash

Irish singer-songwriter Glen Hansard, who won an Academy Award for the 2007 film 'Once,' died in a motorcycle crash near Dublin on Wednesday. He was 56. His management confirmed the death, and Irish police reported a single-vehicle crash in Lucan. Hansard was known for his role in 'The Commitments' and as frontman of The Frames. He is survived by his wife and son.
