Iran rejects Omani Hormuz proposal as regional attacks escalate

Iran rejected an Omani proposal for joint management of the Strait of Hormuz, as a new round of strikes raised fears of wider conflict. The IRGC launched missile attacks on a US base in Jordan, prompting US threats of retaliation. Hezbollah and Houthis also carried out attacks, while US-Saudi strikes hit Iran-aligned forces in Iraq. Iran's deputy foreign minister said Tehran would not recognize US-backed routes or accept de-mining by other powers.
