Yemen fuel crisis halts construction projects

Labourers like Fuad Mohammed, a plasterer in Taiz, have gone months without work as homeowners pause building. The price of diesel rose from 25,000 to 45,000 Yemeni riyals for 20 litres, driving up material costs. Yemen imports nearly 90% of its needs, making it vulnerable to global shocks.
