A US federal jury convicted Hadi Matar on Wednesday of federal terrorism charges for the 2022 stabbing of author Salman Rushdie, which left him blinded in one eye. Matar, 28, faces potential life imprisonment. He is already serving 25 years for state attempted murder after stabbing Rushdie 15 times during a talk in New York.
