More than 30 people were killed in clashes during regional elections in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, according to the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC). The first round of voting on July 27 saw the PML-N win nine of 13 seats, amid a boycott and protests over reserved seats. Amnesty International called for an investigation into the use of lethal force.
