AFC president slams FIFA World Cup investment plan

Asian Football Confederation president Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa has called FIFA's plan to sell stakes in the World Cup to private investors "totally unacceptable," saying it undermines continental football's structure. In a letter to member associations, he criticized FIFA's lack of consultation and urged members to wait for further discussions before approving the proposal, which offers $40m per association if accepted by September 19.
