BTS boycotts Grammys over new Asian pop category

K-pop group BTS announced Wednesday they will not submit music for the 2027 Grammy Awards, protesting the Recording Academy's new Best Asian Pop Music Performance category, which requires meaningful use of an Asian language. The group's latest album "ARIRANG" features English lyrics and would not qualify. BTS, who have never won a Grammy, stated they want music judged without regional distinctions.
