Anurag Thakur moves privilege notice against Rahul Gandhi

BJP MP Anurag Thakur filed a breach of privilege and contempt notice against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for using unparliamentary language during a Lok Sabha debate on July 29. Thakur alleged Gandhi violated Rule 352 by calling students and political opponents 'idiots' and 'andhbhakts', and Rule 353 by levelling unsubstantiated allegations against Home Minister Amit Shah without prior notice. Thakur urged Speaker Om Birla to refer the matter to the Privileges Committee.
