Hiker impaled by pole treks 10 miles down mountain

David Cifaldi slipped while hiking Montana's Granite Peak and was impaled by his trekking pole, which missed all major organs. Instead of calling for a helicopter rescue, the wound care nurse hiked 10 miles down the mountain, managing his injury throughout the descent.
