A new study in Scientific Reports finds that climate change has doubled the frequency of fire-prone weather in southern Europe since 1981, with France and Spain seeing the sharpest increases. The report comes as several countries battle major blazes, including France's largest since 1949 and Spain's biggest on record. Fires have also hit Greece, Turkey, and the UK, with deaths reported in Greece.
