US Sanctions Six Entities Backing Iran's Mahan Air

The US Treasury imposed sanctions on six entities and individuals in China, India, Russia, and Iran for supporting Iran's Mahan Air, which Washington alleges transports weapons and personnel for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned that supporters are sustaining a terrorist enterprise. The action complements earlier sanctions on oil tankers and an IRGC-linked insurance extortion scheme in the Strait of Hormuz.
