The Indian government informed Parliament on Thursday that 16 Indian nationals, including 10 seafarers, have been killed since the Middle East conflict began in 2026. Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh provided a breakdown of casualties by country, with the most deaths in Oman (8) and injuries in the UAE (32). An additional 12 Indians died in a separate accident in Qatar. The government is providing ex-gratia compensation of Rs 10 lakh to affected seafarers.
