Seattle police chief resigns after festival shooting criticism

Seattle Police Chief Shon Barnes resigned Thursday amid criticism over the response to a fatal shootout at the Bite of Seattle food festival. Three people died and four were wounded, including a 2-year-old. Mayor Katie Wilson appointed Deputy Chief Andre Sayles as interim chief. Barnes was out of town during the shooting. Black community organizations had rallied to support him.
