Study finds heart risks in young Indians alarming

A study by Karnataka Medical College and Research Institute, Hubballi, found high prevalence of metabolic abnormalities and early cardiovascular disease markers in adolescents and young adults across 12 Indian states. Over 70% were overweight, 40% had unhealthy cholesterol, and 17.6% showed endothelial dysfunction. High homocysteine levels were seen in 70% of adolescents and 90% of young adults. Experts urge early prevention starting in childhood.
