Oprah Winfrey to Close Her South African Girls' School Next Year

Oprah Winfrey will close the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa at the end of next year, the academy announced. The school near Johannesburg, opened in 2007 after talks with Nelson Mandela, has graduated over 500 girls. The campus will be handed over to Gauteng's education department, while Winfrey's foundation expands a national scholarship program for academically talented girls. Current students will complete their education with uninterrupted financial support.
