Gulveer Singh made history on Saturday by becoming the first Indian to win a Commonwealth Games medal in the men's 5000m, taking bronze with a time of 13:24.95. The reigning Asian champion edged Kenya's Cornelius Kemboi by 0.04 seconds to add to his 10,000m silver, becoming the first Indian track athlete with two medals in a single CWG edition. Kenya's Mathew Kipsang won gold, Australia's Ky Robinson took silver.
