Bankipur Bypoll Tests Prashant Kishor's Political Model

Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party faces its first major electoral test as votes are counted in the Bankipur bypoll, a seat the BJP has held since 2008. The contest pits Kishor's professional, volunteer-based campaign against the BJP's entrenched cadre network. Turnout was 34.24%, lower than the 41.45% in the 2025 assembly polls. Kishor's party won no seats in that election.
