Manipur fuel transporters skip CRPF-escorted convoy

Petroleum product transporters in Manipur did not join a CRPF-escorted convoy despite a government agreement, even as 150 empty goods trucks left Imphal for Jiribam under heavy security. The transport strike, called off after state assurances of enhanced security on NH-37 amid extortion complaints, is expected to be followed by normal fuel distribution once a revised SOP is issued.
