Spider-Man: Brand New Day earned $927m globally in its opening weekend, the second-highest ever behind Avengers: Endgame. The Disney-Marvel release, starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, also set a North American record with $335m. The boost comes ahead of December's Avengers: Doomsday, after recent Marvel films underperformed. The film received positive reviews, with some calling it Holland's best Spider-Man performance yet.
