The finance ministry has raised windfall taxes on exports of diesel, petrol, and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) effective August 3. The export duty on diesel was hiked to Rs 25.5 per litre from Rs 15.5, petrol to Rs 3.5 from Rs 2.5, and ATF to Rs 22 from Rs 14.5. The levies, introduced in March 2026 to secure domestic supply amid the West Asia crises, are revised fortnightly based on international prices. Domestic excise duties remain unchanged.
