Harshita Jakhar becomes first Indian woman at Tour de France Femmes

Indian cyclist Harshita Jakhar, 19, became the first Indian woman to take part in the Tour de France Femmes, riding the ceremonial start of Stage 2 through the UCI World Cycling Talent programme. The Rajasthan rider, who trains in Patiala, was among eight young cyclists from emerging nations. UCI President David Lappartient praised her, and she aims for a top-10 finish at the 2026 Asian Games.
