Millions of Shiite Pilgrims Gather in Karbala for Arbaeen

Millions of Shiite Muslim pilgrims have converged on the Iraqi holy city of Karbala for Arbaeen, one of the world’s largest annual religious gatherings, marking the end of a 40-day mourning period after Ashura. Many walked on foot for days, some crossing from Iran, as volunteers provided food, water, and shelter.
